Using sound design principles in the structure, labeling and organization of shared information is essential for usability. This course starts with an overview of IA components, tasks, deliverables, principles, skills and techniques. It then provides details and workshops for students to understand and practice IA first-hand. The course also covers how to verify and document IA processes for traceability and successfully communicate IA to your team with a final review of various workflow options.
Who should attend?
Anyone who wishes to become an Information Architect or is is part of a team using UX principles in development of an information product including web/mobile apps.
Any prerequisites?
Some familiarity with UX and human-centred design thinking would be helpful.
In addition to bringing your own tablet/laptop, we encourage you to bring your ongoing design to practice with.

Competency Assessment and Certificate

At the request of the person booking, a technical competency assessment will be conducted with the student.
This assessment will be a combination of written and multiple choice questions as well as specific coding tests.
Upon a minimum pass rate of 85%, students will receive a Certificate of Competency instead of the standard certificate of course completion.
